Seoyeon Park is South-Korean pianist and Seoyeon specializes in Impressionistic music composed by Ravel and Debussy due to her sensitivity in creating mysterious atmospheres and a variety of colors. Seoyeon has great technique and Liszt pieces are also perfect pieces to show her insane technique. Seoyeon covers a variety of technique such as leaps of chord, repeated notes, double chords and these are her characteristic of her music. Seoyeon thought that specific composers such as Debussy, Ravel and Liszt are very great music for Seoyeon to convey the musical message to audience. Impressionistic music is mysterious and dream-like so she thought it’d be helpful to soothe audiences’ mind and relax from daily stress. For Liszt, she thought the fanciness of Liszt music would bring fascination to audience because the music is very showy and the lots of figures such as chords and notes mixed in pedal make wonderful effect.

She participated in Texas State International Music festival, Chicago international music festival and Amalfi Coast music festival this year. She attended masterclasses with renowned piano professors such as Boris Berman, Joseph Rackers, Marina Lomazov, Michelle Cann, Jeffrey Cohen and Tina.

Seoyeon Park also proved her performance skills at competitions. Seoyeon won 1st prize at Santa Cecilia International music competition and won 2nd prize at Chicago International music competition. Seoyeon also won numerous prizes in competitions held in Korea including Music education newspaper Competition and International China-Korea piano competition.  Seoyeon Park is currently pursuing Master of Music Degree at Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University with Benjamin Pasternack. Seoyeon Park graduated Yewon School, Seoul Arts High School under guidance of Mari Kwon and Hye-jin Kim. She then earned her Bachelor degree at the Eastman School of Music with high distinction and scholarship with Alan Chow.
